What We Are Learning
Reading &

We are focusing on making words, specifically CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. We are using our vowel sounds to accurately make these words. We are learning new trick words & applying these words in our reading. We are wondering and questioning as we read, focusing on poetry & fiction text.
We are learning ways to make 10, using manipulatives such as cubes, chips, marbles, etc. to help us create number sentences. We are also learning our number facts to 20.
We are working on using our sight words to make simple sentences. We are writing about friends and family we love, as well as animals & things we love. We are using punctuation to end our sentences. We are using lowercase letters when we write, unless it is the beginning of a sentence or a name.
We are learning about different animals in nature, such as bugs, butterflies, and farm animals. We are also beginning our studies on plants and plant growth.
We are working on using our words to express our emotions and feelings. We are also working on being kind to our friends and teachers.
