Lincoln-Bassett is committed to cultivating a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment for all students. The school follows the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) approach to behavior management.  Teachers and staff recognize students for academic excellence and exemplary behavior as a way to celebrate and reinforce positive student behaviors.  

Ways to Earn Eagle Feathers and Fun Fridays:

Teachers and staff have individual classroom reward systems, and school-wide, students can earn “Eagle Feathers” when students demonstrate SOAR behaviors.  Eagle Feathers are achievable in a multitude of ways as Listed on LBCS's SOAR Matrix. These expectations represent the core values of our school and are the hallmark of our safe, heathy and nurturing positive school environment.  
  • Demonstration of SOAR expected behaviors in all areas of the school
  • Perfect attendance and on-time arrival
  • Full homework completion 
  • Great acts of kindness 
  • Responsible citizenship
  • Volunteer work in the classroom/school 
  • Excellent class participation 
  • Academic excellence/Exceptional work product

Classroom Systems and Eagle Feathers/SOAR Stickers/Points/SOAR Bucks

Individual teachers implement a classroom system for individual rewards toward the weekly class reward ("Fun Friday") and toward the monthly award/recognition SOAR Assembly. Students also have opportunities to redeem their SOAR Points for "special" incentives and rewards (seasonal events, School-wide Field trips, etc.).

 Monthly SOAR Assemblies:

Every month, Lincoln-Bassett will host SOAR Assemblies.  During these assemblies, each grade level will announce the names of students who have demonstrated adherence to the school-wide set of expectations (SOAR)  and have earned an individual Eagle Award, Other awards include "Eagle Student of the Month", "Eagle Classroom of the Month" (attendance and uniform compliance)," Classroom Showcase" and grade-level Spelling Bee. At the monthly assembly  Principal Clayton and Leadership Team recognize students who SOAR during the preceding month, and the Principal will also acknowledge the classroom with the highest average daily attendance for the preceding month.
