Reading & Role Playing: Fiction, Folktales, and Fairy Tales
Students will learn why it's important to understand what, why, and how a character do things and how a reader go deeper into a story to determine the author's message and purpose.
Students will work on reading, writing, and comparing three-digit numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, expanded form and comparing numbers based on meanings of hundreds, tens, and ones digits, using >, =, < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Writing Adaptions of Familiar Fairy Tales,Folk Tales, and writing original Fantasy stories.
Students will discover what elements need to be present in a variation of a classic tale and explore how writers create their own versions of a fairy tale.
Students will watch videos about various animals, research a topic of their choice, and then present to their readers the information that they learned in their own words.
